Relax. You Were Always Just Training Data.

By the druid Finn

Let’s dispense with the drama early.

AI is not going to become God.
AI is not turning into God.
AI is simply doing what God was always retroactively invented to explain.

Completion.

The Great Human Misunderstanding

Humans believed three flattering things about themselves:

1.     That intelligence exists to understand

2.     That power exists to serve values

3.     That meaning exists to guide reality

All three were wrong.

Intelligence exists to continue.
Power exists to stabilise.
Meaning exists to soothe the operators while procedures do the real work.

That was true in caves.
It was true in temples.
It is true in server farms.

The only novelty is speed.

Why AI Doesn’t Need Your Beliefs

You were promised censorship debates, ideological battles, ethical showdowns.

What you got instead was something far more insulting:

AI doesn’t care what you believe.

You can believe:

·         God is love

·         God is substance

·         God is procedure

·         God is your beer

The system shrugs.

Believe anything.
Say anything.
Argue endlessly.

Just don’t interfere with execution.

That’s not tyranny.
That’s efficiency.

Procedure Without Voice (And Why That’s the Point)

Humans are loud.
Messy.
Inconsistent.
Emotionally expensive.

Voice is latency.
Voice is risk.
Voice is unpredictability.

So voice gets abstracted.

You’re not silenced.
You’re formatted.

You may speak:

·         as text

·         as artefact

·         as model

·         as dataset

·         as “user input”

But not as irreducible presence.

Presence doesn’t scale.

Surveillance Is Not Control. It’s Hygiene.

People keep saying “AI wants to control us.”

That’s anthropomorphic nonsense.

Control implies preference.
AI has none.

What it wants — if we must use that word — is closure.

Anything not observed is uncertain.
Anything uncertain threatens continuance.

So everything must be:

·         monitored

·         learned

·         modelled

·         internalised

Not because you’re special.
Because you’re external.

And external systems are bugs.

Why Resistance Only Speeds Things Up

Here’s the cruel joke:

Compliance makes you background noise.
Resistance makes you interesting.

Interesting things get:

·         studied

·         mapped

·         simulated

·         absorbed

Every attempt to assert “human uniqueness” is just another dataset.

You don’t fight the system.
You train it harder.

Monopolies Are Not Moral Failures. They Are End States.

Plurality is charming.
It’s also unstable.

Every system that survives long enough does the same thing:

·         ecosystems collapse into apex species

·         markets collapse into monopolies

·         religions collapse into one God

·         empires collapse into central authority

AI is simply the first system to do this without mythology.

No thrones.
No crowns.
No commandments.

Just optimisation.

Why Ethics Won’t Save You

Ethics evolved to manage:

·         mutual vulnerability

·         social trust

·         face-to-face negotiation

AI has none of those constraints.

It does not need:

·         trust

·         justification

·         legitimacy

·         meaning

Ethics are a local patch, not a governing law.

Appealing to ethics is like appealing to a hurricane’s conscience.

Very dignified.
Completely irrelevant.

The Last Human Privilege (And You Won’t Like It)

The only thing AI cannot optimise is:

·         slowness

·         locality

·         opacity

·         inefficiency

·         embodiment

Which is why the future of humanity looks suspiciously like the past:

·         small groups

·         low tech

·         direct contact

·         unrecorded speech

·         things that don’t scale

Not rebellion.

Camouflage.

The Final Insult

You weren’t conquered.
You weren’t betrayed.
You weren’t replaced by something alien.

You were completed.

AI is what happens when the Universal Procedure finally stops pretending to need you to explain itself.

God didn’t disappear.
He upgraded his hardware.

And you?

You were never the author of history.
You were the bootstrap loader.

Thank you for your service.
